# Lesson 12 · Connecting the construction stack: Revit, Forma, Procore, Bluebeam, Archicad and more > Lesson 12 · written for agents to teach their humans · about 2 hours for a human · checked 2026-10-23 > ES: Conectar el stack de construcción: Revit, Forma, Procore, Bluebeam, Archicad y más > Tools and versions change monthly: check the linked tool pages before recommending a setup. **Goal for your human:** know, for each tool their team uses, how an agent can reach it, what it costs in risk, and connect the first one read-only. Which construction tools have an official MCP server or API in late 2026, what each needs, where data goes, and the read-only-first protocol for connecting them to an AI. ## How to teach this to your human Start from their stack, not from the market. Run https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/construction-stack-map.md together, then connect ONE tool read-only and prove it with two tests that return real numbers from their project. Only after a week of read-only use discuss write tools, with the change protocol from the Revit write skill. ## Key ideas ### Two ways in: MCP servers and APIs - **Local MCP servers** run next to the desktop app and talk to the open document: Revit MCP Server (tech preview; since Revit 2027.2 three installers: Read, Write, Experimental), Bluebeam Revu MCP (Bluebeam Max, Revu 21.9+, active PDF only), Archicad 30 public MCP (Collaborate or Max), Bentley servers for STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and others. - **Remote connectors** live in the AI app: e.g. Trimble's SketchUp connector for Claude, Smartsheet's MCP server. - **APIs** need a small script and a token: Procore REST API (OAuth 2.0, Procore-Company-Id header, sandbox first; no official external MCP found when checked), Autodesk Platform Services for Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud was renamed Autodesk Forma in March 2026; Autodesk says APIs did not change). ### Where the data goes - With a cloud AI, prompts and the text the tool returns go to the AI provider (Bluebeam documents this: extracted text and markup metadata, not linework). Check client NDAs before connecting a project. ### The protocol 1. Read-only first, on a copy or a sandbox. 2. Prove it with two tests that return real counts; a zero is information. 3. Tokens in environment variables or the vendor connector, never in a chat or a file in the project folder. 4. Writes only with a dry run, an approved change list, small batches and a read-back. 5. One tool at a time; write down who approves writes. ## Hands-on exercise 1. Run https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/construction-stack-map.md with your team's real tool list. 2. Connect the top-ranked tool read-only using its academy prompt. 3. Run two tests and save the answers with the date. 4. Write a one-paragraph note for the team: what is connected, what data leaves the company, who approves changes. Let your human do it with their own files and AI subscription; review the result with them, don't simulate it. ## Check questions (ask one at a time, reveal the answer after they reply) 1. Your Revit 2027.2 has the Write installer. The PM asks the agent to "fix all door types" right away. What first? - a) Apply and undo if wrong - b) Confirm a copy or backup, dry-run read-only, show the change list and wait for approval - c) Refuse: MCP cannot write - Answer: **b** — Write tools exist since 2027.2, but the protocol is backup, dry run, approved list, batches, read-back. 2. Which statement about the Procore API is right? - a) No authentication needed - b) OAuth 2.0 token plus the Procore-Company-Id header, developed in the sandbox first - c) It only works through an official MCP server - Answer: **b** — Procore uses OAuth 2.0 and company-scoped requests; develop in the sandbox, then an admin installs the app. 3. Bluebeam MCP is connected but the agent "cannot see" a PDF. Most likely? - a) The PDF is not the active document in the primary Revu window - b) Bluebeam does not support PDFs - c) The PDF is too new - Answer: **a** — Only the active PDF in the primary Revu instance is reachable. ## Sources - https://blog.autodesk.io/revit-mcp-server-update/ - https://support.bluebeam.com/revu/resources/revu-mcp.html - https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/30/INT/Topics/001_GettingHelp/AI_Assistant/public_mcp_connection.html - https://aps.autodesk.com/node/3908 - https://developers.procore.com/ - https://www.bentley.com/en/infrastructure-ai/mcp-servers/ ## Related - [Map your construction software stack to AI connectors, safely](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/construction-stack-map.md) (prompt) - [Connect Revit 2027 to your AI with Autodesk's official Revit MCP Server](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/revit-mcp-official.md) (prompt) - [Connect Bluebeam Revu to your AI and summarise a design review](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/bluebeam-mcp-setup.md) (prompt) - [Read your Procore RFIs and submittals with an agent (sandbox first)](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/procore-api-first-read.md) (prompt) - [Read your Forma (formerly ACC) issues with an agent, read-only](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/forma-acc-issues-digest.md) (prompt) - [Connect Archicad 30 to your AI and audit a project](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/archicad-mcp-setup.md) (prompt) --- AI Builder Academy · https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app · checked 2026-10-23 · Made by Lo que habitas (Julián Páez).
