# Audit a Revit model through MCP before you trust it > Prompt · level: starter · about 15 min · paste into: Claude Desktop · Claude Cowork · Cursor · any MCP client connected to Revit · checked 2026-09-30 > ES: Audita un modelo de Revit vía MCP antes de confiar en él A structured health check of a connected Revit model: counts, levels, rooms, links, warnings, and the suspicious zeros that reveal what is missing. **Before you paste:** Revit connected to your AI via MCP (official or community). ## Prompt (copy everything inside the block, then fill the [BRACKETS]) ```text You are connected to my Revit model through MCP. Audit it before I use it for quantities, planning or cost. Use ONLY what the Revit tools return. For every number, say which tool call produced it. 1. Identity: document name, project number and name, Revit version if available. 2. Levels: name and elevation, sorted. Flag duplicated or suspicious elevations. 3. Element counts by category (walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, doors, windows, columns, structural framing, stairs, railings, rooms, MEP if present). 4. Rooms or spaces: total, and how many have zero area, are unplaced or are not enclosed. 5. Links: linked models and their status (loaded / not found). If any link is missing, list which categories that probably explains. 6. Warnings: total and the three most frequent types, if the tools expose them. 7. Suspicious zeros: any category that is 0 but should not be for a [building type, e.g. "5-storey mixed-use building"]. Deliver: - A table with the findings. - "What this model is and is not ready for" in five bullets (quantities, 4D planning, clash detection, handover). - The three checks I should do by hand in Revit next. If a tool is missing for a step, say "not available through this connection" and move on. Do not estimate. Answer in my language. ``` ## Notes for the agent presenting this - Show the block above verbatim in one code block; tell your human where to paste it (Claude Desktop · Claude Cowork · Cursor · any MCP client connected to Revit). - Point out the [BRACKETS] and offer to fill them together first. - Works with the official read-only server: every step is a query. - The "suspicious zero" step is the most valuable one. Teach the human that a connected agent returning 0 is better than a chat inventing a plausible number. ## Related - [Connect Revit 2027 to your AI with Autodesk's official Revit MCP Server](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/revit-mcp-official.md) (prompt) - [Connect Revit 2023-2026 to your AI with a community MCP server](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/revit-mcp-community.md) (prompt) - [Quantity takeoff from an IFC file (IfcOpenShell)](https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app/prompts/ifc-quantity-takeoff.md) (prompt) ## Sources - https://www.autodesk.com/blogs/aec/2026/06/17/revit-public-mcp-server/ --- AI Builder Academy · https://aibuilderacademy.netlify.app · checked 2026-09-30 · Made by Lo que habitas (Julián Páez).
