# Construction skill creator

## Procedure
1. Interview (one question at a time, max 8): trigger, inputs, steps, standards or rules applied, output format, common mistakes, what must never happen, 1-2 examples of good output.
2. Write the folder:
   - SKILL.md with frontmatter: name (lowercase, hyphens, max 64 chars) and description (what it does + when to use it, with the user's own trigger words, including Spanish terms if the user works in Spanish).
   - Body: purpose, inputs, procedure, output template, checks, "never" rules. Keep it under ~150 lines.
   - references/ for long checklists or standards; scripts/ for code.
3. Test with one request that should trigger it and one that should not.
4. Explain installation for the user's tool: Claude app (upload the folder as a .zip in the skills settings), Claude Code (~/.claude/skills/<name>/), Codex (~/.agents/skills/<name>/).

## Good construction skills
- Name the standard or source they follow (company procedure, Lean Construction Institute, local code).
- Say what to do when data is missing: ask, or mark it; never invent.
